Parts of Aurora and Newmarket continue to deal with power outages due to the storm that swept through the area on Saturday. One to 100 customers are without power, according to the Alectra Utilities website.

A power outage in South Lake Tahoe impacted 4,520 Liberty Utilities customers. Service was restored in Michael Drive and South Shore Drive a couple of hours later. PG&E's officials say the cause for these outages is weather-related.

Thousands of PG&E customers were starting the New Year with no electricity. Some were heading into a sixth day without lights and the company is expecting some customers will not have power through Tuesday or possibly later next week.

In St. Catharines, more than 3,500 homes and businesses were affected by the power outages, and Alectra Utilities workers were sent to the affected areas.

Burlington Hydro is investigating a power outage that occurred in Burlington. The outage left approximately 2,000 customers without electricity.

A blackout Friday left thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers without electricity in North County. About 6,000 residents of Carlsbad and La Costa were affected in an outage.

More than two dozen surgeries were postponed Wednesday morning at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg due to a power outage. A spokesperson for the hospital said an early morning power outage delayed 27 procedures in total: three cardiac and 24 non-cardiac surgeries.

The vehicle, a Dodge Caravan was traveling westbound on Front Road when it veered into the eastbound lanes, leaving the roadway and striking the pole and a fence. The front of the vehicle was severely damaged and the utility pole was leaning and cracked at the top due to the accident. The unidentified man suffered only minor injuries. This accident resulted in a power outage.

More than 2,400 homes and businesses in Brampton were affected by power outages. Alectra Utilities reports that power was interrupted between Chinguacousy Road and Main Street South on the north side of Highway 407.

According to Hydro One's outage map, thousands of customers are still without power after yesterday's storm. Areas affected include the northern part of the city (including Chelmsford, Dowling and Onaping), as well as the Highway 17 corridor from Walden to the Elliot Lake exit, Espanola, Manitoulin Island and Killarney.

On October 1, 2021, Ottawa Hydro will begin scheduled work to maintain the reliability of the region's power system. Planned outages will be required to ensure the work can be performed safely. The outages will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Belleville police have released information about an incident that left thousands without power Wednesday. According to police, officers and firefighters responded shortly before noon to Frankford Road, east of Highway 62, after receiving a report that a transport truck had pulled down power lines. Further investigation revealed that the incident caused a power outage that affected more than 2,000 people in the area. Police temporarily closed the road while crews repaired the damage. No injuries were reported.

Power has been restored to most of the Pembroke region. The outage occurred this afternoon (Nov. 16, 2021) and lasted about 30 minutes. According to Ottawa River Power, the outage was due to a problem with the 115 kV transmission system serving the Pembroke region. Some Regina residents will be without power overnight due to Tuesday's heavy snowfall, SaskPower confirmed on Twitter Tuesday night that residents in the eastern part of the city, between Park Street and Rothwell Street, and between Broad Street and Winnipeg Street in the Warehouse District, will be without power. After a rainy weekend with rainfall warnings in effect since Monday morning, Environment Canada has issued a warning for high winds expected in Greater Victoria and the Strait of Juan de Fuca in the early hours of this afternoon. According to Environment Canada, Greater Victoria will experience winds of 40 to 90 kilometers per hour from the west, and winds will increase in the morning as a cold front moves through the area. Winds of 40 to 60 km/h will be prevalent over most of Greater Victoria. However, exposed coastal areas near the strait will experience westerly winds of 60 km/h with gusts up to 90 km/h," said a statement from Environment Canada.

Parts of eastern Belleville lost power for more than five hours overnight. Just after 9 p.m. Sunday night, a car crashed into a utility pole in the area of Hastings Drive and Montgomery Boulevard, near McDowell's Independent Grocer. The driver of the dark-colored SUV fled the scene and police are investigating his whereabouts. crews from Elexicon Energy made repairs and restored power around 3 a.m. Monday.

More than 25,000 homes in southwestern British Columbia are without power after a severe storm hit the area overnight. Most of the outages are concentrated in the Lower Mainland, where more than 20,000 customers are without power, according to B.C. Hydro. Much of the North Coast is similarly in the dark until this afternoon because of damage to several critical power lines. Hydro spokesman Kyle Donaldson said emergency crews arriving on the scene found three broken power poles that need to be repaired. In addition, about 3,000 people on Vancouver Island and about 2,000 people in North Vancouver are without power.

On Thursday, November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there will be a rolling blackout affecting approximately 40 residents in the area between 7th and 9th Streets and 20th and 21st Streets in Lethbridge. The outage is weather permitting and will last approximately 7.5 hours.
